The Root of Evil: Human Unconsciousness

Why are some people so obsessed with demonizing others online?

It can hurt, to watch friends and family publicly call each other out and slander one another. And all to build a narrative that favors themself over the other person.

But, we see strangers do this to each other too. Comment battles and arguments are all the rage in today’s online society. Several people even feed into these with memes or *pops popcorn* comments, which are funny sure, but still add to this collective, unfolding toxicity, proving that people, in fact, enjoy the drama. They even enjoy being in pain (though they don’t quite know or understand that yet).

Why do we do this to each other? Is it because some people are bad? Or simply mean? Bitter? Angry?

It all stems from one thing actually. See, there is only one root evil on this planet, in this physical plane. And that is human unconsciousness.

From human unconsciousness, all suffering extends.

To understand what I mean by human unconsciousness, you first must understand who you are. This is investigated in my post The Voice Inside Your Head, which I highly recommend as a precursor to this post.

Essentially, you are an awareness. A stillness observing your mind, your emotions, your physical life. But you are not your thoughts. You are not the self-image, nor the identity you have created for yourself, that you have built up in your head. You are not the voice inside your head! Nor are you the physical person or body that you inhabit.

Your ego works hard to trick you otherwise. It feeds you false narratives and illusions, all centered around its major goal: to be right and gain attention. Anytime you feel superior or inferior to another person, it is your ego. But the ego wants to be inflated, to be seen as superior, better than, more intelligent, and right. It wants it so much that it intends to separate itself from others. It tricks you into believing you are different and separate from everyone else. It feeds off any little incident that makes it feel better than others.

In reality, all things are connected, are the same. We are all of the same multi-dimensional star-stuff. Limitless. Formless. We are all of the same value. And we are all one with life.

The first step in combating your own unconsciousness is to simply recognize that it exists.

While you are unconscious to the Truth of yourself, of who you are, you will be over-obsessed with your mind, with identifying with it. You will identify with objects, your emotions, and your own self-image. You will let these physical aspects, which are part of being human, drown your life and cause unconscious suffering to persist.

You will constantly shift blame to other people. Seeing other people as “the problem” shows you are operating from an unconscious level. In reality, no person is ever a problem, or bad, or even good. They just are. It is a person’s unconsciousness, their inability to recognize the Truth (which will allow you to operate from a place of true love and peace) that is lashing out and saying hurtful things. It is their unconsciousness that degrades others, is physically violent toward them, is name-calling and causing the problem.

Human unconsciousness is the only true evil on this planet.

If you can recognize the unconsciousness, the madness, the ego, that a person is operating from, you will realize that nothing they say or do is personal to you. You can see through the insanity of their actions or words and be non-reactive. You can see the light in them, the Truth of who they are, buried under their ego. It is not “them,” it is their unconsciousness, that is the problem.

Thinking without awareness is the major dilemma of human existence. So many people are lost, trapped within the vortex of their minds, their thoughts, and the stories or narratives they have created. And so we see this manifest all across the globe, from large scale wars and genocides to family drama and Internet arguments, all of these stem from the human unconsciousness, whether at an individual level or the collective level.

And without even realizing it, by operating at this level, by causing drama and spreading hurt, you are feeding your pain-body. Most humans have a pain-body, which is an energy field of collective negative emotions that one has not fully faced, accepted or let go. This pain-body can lie dormant and awaken instantly when triggered by a situation or person. It responds to your thoughts and emotions, feeding on the negative ones and pushing you to feel more. This is why you can become addicted to causing and receiving pain. Your pain-body has convinced you to hold on to the negative, to feed it more so that it can continue to grow!

That, coupled with the ego and its incessant need to be right and gain attention, can make for a very confusing, muddling, and hard human existence, specifically for anyone unaware of it. It is why so many people are trapped within their own cycles of suffering. And while suffering is necessary to transcend and reach awakening (a paradox, I know) it is conscious suffering and acceptance of it, that one must attain before they can hope to recognize the great Truth.

It’s YOU.

You are the great Truth. Just Being, is the great Truth.

Once you recognize that the ego, the mind, the body, the emotions you have, are not you and do not give any value to who you are, you can slowly start to weaken their hold on your life.

Sometimes you will have to distance yourself from deeply unconscious people. Even if they are family, or friends, at least until they can begin the process of awakening and recognizing the ego and pain-body within them. It can be so hard to know where to even start! Egos, pain-body’s, unconsciousness, who am I? No wonder our world is so confused and angry.

But we can only weaken the collective human unconsciousness one soul at a time. For each person that awakens to the Truth (again, you are the Truth), we can get closer and closer to a shift, to a transformation and transcendence in global consciousness that this world desperately needs.

We are on the verge of destroying our planet – its resources, its life, its natural environment and the humans on it. The collective human unconsciousness has manifested a particularly harsh physical reality. What we all feel inward will reflect outward, and while so many humans are trapped within their egos and the pain-body, greed, anger, war and genocide will surely follow.

So, the next time you see someone arguing online, or slandering another person, or anything of the like, I hope you’ll take a second to observe that its not “them” doing that. It is their ego. They are a formless Being, worthy of love and goodness. Then, maybe you can start to observe the ego within yourself, and day by day, stop responding to situations and people through your ego. Only then can you erase that mental self-image of who you are, and what everyone thinks of you. None of that is real, and none of it matters. Honestly.

The best way to practice this and to step into awareness, is to be present, to live in presence, and the present moment. I will write more about the power of living in “the now” soon.

Until Then –
